Riwal, one of the world’s largest aerial rental companies, recently opened a branch in Kazakhstan, and is currently in the process of opening locations in Brazil and Croatia, Rik Maaskant, manager of marketing and public relations told RER. This year the Dordrecht, Netherlands-based company also opened three branches in France and one in Denmark.

In most countries Riwal’s primary focus is on the sales and rental of aerial work platforms, but in Kazakhstan Riwal will also sell and rent generators, compressors and Bobcat loaders, Maaskant said.

The Kazakhstan branch is based in the city of Atyrau. Kazakhstan has vast oil reserves, making it the fastest-growing economy in Central Asia.

“Being a dealer of JLG Industries in several countries, including the Netherlands, we specialize in self-propelled platforms and booms, but we also distribute JLG’s telescopic material handlers,” Maaskant added. Riwal has recently grown its inventory of van-, truck- and trailer-mounted platforms, including three Wumag 100-meter lifts.

Riwal’s fleet is approaching the 9,000-unit mark, Maaskant said, and recently ordered more than 2,000 units, partly replacing three- to four-year-old machines, and partly to continue its growth.
