Ramirent, based in Helsinki, Finland, with branches in 13 countries in Europe, has signed a five-year rental agreement with E. Pihl & Son A.S., a Danish contractor in business since 1900.

Pihl is family owned and is currently working in 16 different countries with projects ranging from large infrastructure works to hydro power plants and building construction. Pihl’s net sales were €733 million (about U.S. $970 million) in 2009, of which €333 million was generated in Denmark.

For Ramirent Denmark, the agreement with Pihl corresponds to annual sales of €2 million to €3 million.

“With this agreement, we have extended our good co-operation with Ramirent,” said Niels Erik Niebuhr, head of the plant (rental) department for Pihl.

“Letting customers outsource their machinery to us and focus on their own core processes is an important part of our strategy in simplifying business for our customers,” said Erik Høi, managing director of Ramirent Denmark. “We are very pleased to announce this agreement, which further deepens our co-operation with Pihl and reinforces Ramirent’s position in Denmark.”

According to Ramirent, the company is the leading rental company in Denmark, with annual volume of €43 million in 2009, with 20 branches.
