Helsinki, Finland-based Ramirent has acquired the assets of Czech machinery and equipment rental company Stavebni Doprava a Mechanizace. The acquisition gives Ramirent three additional branches in Czech Republic, giving the company 27 locations in that country.

SDM was founded in 1992 as a dealer, maintenance and rental company. It offers general rental equipment, aluminum scaffolding, power generators and hoists, concentrating in the construction sector. It has locations in Prague, Mukarov and Bmo.

“The acquisition is in line with Ramirent’s strategy of developing a nationwide coverage in its markets to be close to its customers,” said Tomasz Walawender, senior vice president of Ramirent Europe Central. “The location of SDM’s outlets complements well our existing network and brings synergies and will improve our customer service.”

Ramirent has about 380 locations in 13 countries in northern, central and eastern Europe.
