U.K. Rental Company Wins $2.8 Million Yemen Contract
Northbridge Industrial Services, an industrial services and rental company based in the United Kingdom, last week announced a rental contract to supply generators, transformers and associated equipment for 12 months to the Jabali Zinc Project in Yemen. The contract includes a maintenance agreement. The contract will begin in September, with the full package expected on site in the first half of 2010, with a minimum service period of 12 months, renewable afterwards. The value of the minimum service period is about $2.9 million.
The customer and main contractor is the Jabal Salab Co. (Yemen) Ltd. the majority shareholder is Zincox Resources, which specializes in the low-cost production of zinc from mined zinc oxide.
“In June 2008 we acquired new premises in the Middle East in order to facilitate more rapid growth in this important region,” said Northbridge chief executive Eric Hook. “Winning this contract represents an important successful step in Northbridge’s objective of becoming a key supplier of specialized rental services in the Middle East.”
