Loxam Adds Six Branches in France, Begins Morocco Expansion
France-based international rental company Loxam has acquired Regis, a French rental company with six branches located in Ile-de-France and Picardy. With the acquisition, Loxam expands its network to 533 branches and more than 200,000 machines.
Loxam had 2010 volume of about €700 million (about U.S. $960 million).
Regis was founded in 1976 by Pierre Regis and is currently led by Jerome and Nicolas Regis.
In other Loxam news, the company chose North Africa Stokvis, a Moroccan technical equipment importer, as its distributor in Morocco, operating from Loxam’s new location in Bouskoura. Stovkis imports, rents and distributes construction, mining and agricultural machinery.
The Moroccan venture is Loxam’s first expansion into Africa. The company said it will look to sign long-term rental contracts with French contractors and other international companies working in Morocco.
