Kimberly Group, a U.K.-based aerial rental company is looking to expand after placing a £4 million (about U.S. $6.2 million) order for Genie aerial work platforms. The order brings Kimberly’s fleet to nearly 2,500 units, according to U.K. press reports. The Harrowgate, U.K.-based company, which is private equity backed, has a network of 10 branches and is considering adding outlets in Aberdeen and Cardiff.
Kimberly chairman Ray Ledger said the business is looking for acquisitions and considering a flotation on the Alternative Investment Market to fund further growth. He added the company expects a volume of £23 million (about U.S. $35.7 million) in 2012, up from £15 million in 2011, with EBITDA of £6.5 million. The group acquired High Level Platforms in Dorset last year.
Ledger added that the rental market for powered access equipment in the U.K. has “mushroomed” as a result of tightening regulations with regard to working at heights.
