Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla to Officially Open JCB Academy
An academy school sponsored by JCB will be officially opened by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall — Charles and Camilla — February 18. The £22 million JCB Academy in Rocester, Staffordshire, where JCB is headquartered, will be dedicated by Charles and Camilla, who will tour the school, meet staff and students and unveil a plaque marking its opening.
The school, based in a converted mill dating back to 1781, is dedicated to the education of 14- to 19-year-olds with a core focus on engineering.
“The JCB Academy is the first of its kind in the U.K. and is already enjoying great success,” said JCB chairman Sir Anthony Bamford. “The commemorative visit by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall is a wonderful opportunity to share the story of the success so far and the ethos behind the Academy’s creation.”
