HSS Hire, one of the United Kingdom’s largest equipment rental companies, received the Van Excellence accreditation for the safety and standards of its commercial fleet. HSS is the first tool and equipment rental company to achieve this accreditation, according to the company.
The Van Excellence accreditation, managed by the Freight Transport Association, is an industry-driven program that promotes best practice standards and is designed to raise operational and safety standards and recognize excellence across van operators.
The program recognizes an organization’s commitment to safer, more efficient and more sustainable van operations and looks at vehicle standards, road-worthiness, maintenance, safety as well as driver competence and training.
“At HSS, we are serious about safety so for us, having vans that are safe to drive and drivers that know how to drive them safely is essential,” said Lee Jackson, fleet manager at HSS Hire. “Our commitment to van excellence means we are better equipped to move and deliver equipment for our customers.”
