New Zealand’s Hirepool Acquires Large Aerial Inventory from Crane Rental Firm
New Zealand rental chain Hirepool has acquired New Zealand Access Hire from New Zealand Crane Group, the second acquisition by Hirepool in the past year. The addition of the New Zealand Access Hire aerial work platform fleet, apparently makes Hirepool’s aerial fleet, including light towers and telehandlers, the country’s largest, according to New Zealand’s National Business Review.
The acquisition gives Hirepool increased penetration into the civil construction, infrastructure and film industry.
Hirepool chief executive Mark Powell said it makes strategic sense for Hirepool to add to its fleet. Deane Manley, managing director of the New Zealand Crane Group, said the company has been considering divesting the aerial equipment for some time, enabling the company to concentrate on its core crane rental business.
