Hewden, U.K. equipment rental specialist, has launched a 24-hour breakdown service to keep its fleet going round the clock throughout England.

To improve the efficiency of its service team, Hewden has invested in more than 200 new vehicles. The service vehicles will be dispersed among Hewden branches. The new fleet includes the Volkswagen Caddy, featuring a 1.6-L low-emission diesel engine, as well as the Ford Transit Trench. The Hewden fleet has been fitted with professional racking and restraint straps and full-steel bulkheads to meet Freight Transport Association’s guidelines.

The interior racking is fully re-usable so when an old vehicle is decommissioned, the equipment can be removed, adapted and re-installed into a new vehicle.
