Norrlandskranar AB Becomes Part of Sweden’s Havator Group

Swedish rental company Havator AB, which acquired all shares in Norrlandskranar AB and its affiliated subsidiaries Norrlandskranar i Jämtland AB and Örnkranar AB in September, last week completed the takeover.

The companies have offices in Sundsvall, Örnsköldsvik, Härnösand and Östersund, Sweden, and currently have 35 employees and an annual turnover of approximately SEK 49 million (about U.S. $7.4 million). The primary focus of the purchased operations is mobile crane services in Central Sweden. The company owns 20 cranes in the 10- to 300-tonne category.

“The acquisition of Norrlandskranar AB is yet another step in the strategic development of Havator in which the goal is a well-functioning network of depots within Sweden,” said Peter Nilsson, director of operations Sweden. “The position of Havator in Central Sweden will be strengthened even more through the acquisition resulting in even better possibilities for fulfilling the needs of our customers in a more effective manner. With a greater base in Central Sweden, the possibility for good availability, better security, more effective customer solutions increases, benefiting both Havator and its customers."

Havator previously had crane operations at the following locations in Central Sweden: Uppsala, Sundsvall and Örnsköldsvik. Other Havator crane operations are in Nyköping, Norrköping, Motala, Gothenburg, Stenungsund as well as in Umeå, Skellefteå, Piteå, Luleå, Kalix and Kiruna, Sweden.
