Doosan Completes Construction of Small Excavator Plant in China
Doosan Infracore, based in Seoul, Korea, said this week that it has completed the construction of a new factory in China to produce excavators, according to Asian news reports. The new plant was built in Suzhou, in Jiangsu province, to meet growing demand for smaller excavators in China, the company said.
Chinese units of Doosan Infracore invested nearly $6.5 million in the plant’s construction. The new factory will focus on mass production of excavators weighing less than eight tons, while the company’s existing plant in Yantain, in Shandong province, will manufacture mid- to large-sized excavators. Doosan said the market for compact excavators in China has grown an average of 34 percent annually during the past five years.
