Deutz Opens Technology Center for Heritage Day

September 12 was Heritage Day in Germany and Deutz AG celebrated by opening its doors at its Cologne-Porz headquarters to visitors to the Deutz Technology Center, a museum that houses its unique collection of historical engines going back to 1864. Those engines, built by Deutz founder August Otto, are still in working order.

The exhibits showed Engine No. 1 from 1867, the first atmospheric gas-powered engine, and its first four-stroke production engine, from 1876.

The technology center has more than 50 exhibits, providing an in-depth overview of engine history.
