Atlas Copco Wins Compressor Orders in China

Atlas Copco last week, during the World Expo in Shanghai, China, signed several contracts for delivery of compressors to strategically important customers in China, including PetroChina and Yingde Gases Group. The combined order value is above SEK 100 million (about U.S. $13.2 million).

“We are proud of the strong relationships we have developed with these and many other customers in China,” said Stephan Kuhn, business area president, Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. “China is an important market for us, and our many activities at the World Expo in Shanghai will help us to strengthen these relationships even further.”

PetroChina Company Limited has ordered more than 40 oil-free compressors and dryers for two natural gas pipelines being constructed in China, the West-East Natural Gas Transmission Project and the Shaanxi-Beijing Natural Gas Transmission Project.

Atlas Copco’s Gas and Process division won a contract from Yingde Gases Group Co. Limited to deliver centrifugal compressors for air separation.

Other contracts signed during the World Expo were for portable compressors to customers in the construction industry, and various service contracts. Atlas Copco also confirmed an order from China’s largest beverage company, Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co. Ltd, for nine oil-free compressors to be used for manufacturing PET bottles.

Based in Stockholm, Sweden, Atlas Copco is an industrial group with positions in compressors, construction and mining equipment, power tools and assembly systems. Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area develops, manufactures, markets, and services oil-free and oil-injected stationary air compressors, portable air compressors, gas and process compressors, turbo expanders, electric power generators, air treatment equipment and air management systems.
