Aggreko Expands Brazil Facility

Aggreko, a global leader in providing temporary power and temperature control, has moved its Macae, Brazil, operations to a new, larger location. Aggreko has been offering rental power and temperature control services in Brazil since 2003, particularly to the oil and gas sector. The new facility, five times the size of Aggreko’s current branch, will allow the company to increase the size of its workforce and the amount of equipment it can keep in the region.

“This larger facility is a necessary step for Aggreko in South America,” said Diogenes Paoli Neto, Aggreko’s director for South America. “We have seen demand for rental power and temperature control steadily increasing in past years and this depot will help us to meet the growing demand. The facility represents a significant investment in the local area and gives us a solid foundation to continue building successful partnerships in the region.”

Demand for Aggreko’s specialist rental services has greatly increased since 2004, when Aggreko became an official power supplier for Petrobras, Brazil’s primary oil producer. Aggreko supplies rental power and temperature control for a variety of applications, including power for oil platforms in the Campos basin and chilling solutions to increase production rates at Petrobras refineries.

The new facility was announced at Brasil Offshore 5th Edition, the second largest exhibition for the country’s oil and gas industry. Aggreko is also the official supplier for power generation for the exhibition, providing power amounting to almost 15,000 kVA during the four-day exhibition from June 16-19. The temporary power supplied is equivalent to the power needed to supply 4,000 residences.
