Volvo Rents Announces Tour Dates for Charitable Comedy Events

Hardhat Comedy, Volvo Rents’ charitable program of bringing relief by means of donations to the needy in cities and towns in the United States and Canada, last week announced a number of comedy events on schedule. The Hard Hat Comedy Tour is scheduled for Tampa, Fla., July 8; Atlanta, July 14; Ferndale, Wash., July 17; Denver, July 22; Albany, N.Y., Sept. 19; and Bryan/College Station, Texas, Oct. 2.

Additional tour dates are scheduled for later in the year in Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; East Edmonton, Alberta, and Shreveport, La. The dates for these events will be announced soon.

“We could not be more pleased with the local response to this important charitable relief program,” said Barry Natwick, president and CEO of Volvo Rents. “Some 20 cities across the country will have benefited from our brand of ‘comic relief’ via the Hardhat Comedy Show by the end of this year.”

The company is in the early planning stages for additional events in Rochester, N.Y.; Jessup, Md.; Boston, Houston and Birmingham, Ala. “Hardhat Comedy was conceived as a way both to give back to the local communities which we serve and to promote Volvo’s caring attitude,” added Nick Mavrick of Volvo Rents’ marketing and communications department.

Volvo Rents organizes and sponsors comedians to provide the entertainment, including Carmen “The Construction Comic” Ciricillo, Jerry Carroll, Julie Scoggins, Ed Fox, Larry Weaver, Matt Kazam and others.

To gain admission, attendees must bring donated items to support a charitable organization. The show in Asheville, N.C., raised more than one ton of non-perishable food items for Marina Food Bank, a local foundation providing meals for those in need. Other shows were held in Sarasota, Fla, New York City and King of Prussia, Pa.
