Volvo Rents Opens New Rental Centers in New York, Arizona

Volvo Construction Equipment Rent last week announced the opening of new Volvo Rents equipment rental centers on the upper east side of Manhattan in New York City and Show Low, Ariz.

The New York facility is the company’s fourth rental center in the state. Others are in Rochester, Kingston and New Windsor.

William Ellis Partners, owned by franchise principals William Ellis and Pat Lackey, opened its first Volvo Rents center in Langhorne, Pa., in 2005 and a second store in Somerville, N.J., in 2007. The new Volvo Rents center in Manhattan, N.Y., an independent veteran-owned franchise, will carry, in addition to Volvo construction equipment, a comprehensive line of essential equipment and tools for the construction, commercial and industrial markets.

“As the only major equipment rental store in Manhattan, Volvo Rents is well positioned to serve our customers with exceptional care — quickly and efficiently,” said Bill Ellis, owner.

The Show Low, Ariz., branch is the company’s fifth independent family-owned and operated rental center in the state; others are in Tucson, Eloy, Miami and Thatcher.

Arizona Equipment Rental 1 LLC, owned by franchise principals Jeff Bleecker and Lance Evic, opened its first Volvo Rents center in Tucson in 2005.

“We are thrilled to expand the business into the Miami and Globe area,” said co-owner Jeff Bleecker.

The Volvo Rents franchise program was designed by Volvo Construction Equipment and covers all aspects of an operating business model. Features include use of the Volvo brand, financial assistance, a fleet purchasing program, a Volvo Rents proprietary software program, operational support and guidance, comprehensive training in systems, sales, service, and management, as well as facility design and regional and local marketing. Principal Volvo products for its rental centers include its extensive line of compact excavators and wheel loaders, backhoes and skid-steer loaders.

Headquartered in Asheville, N.C., Volvo Rents is No. 19 on the new RER 100. It has 83 equipment rental centers open in North America, 79 centers in Europe and one in Mexico.
