Volvo Rents is offering two free Hardhat Comedy shows this week, in Atlanta and Ferndale, Wash.
The Atlanta show will star Carmen Ciricillo, a.k.a. “The Construction Comic,” and will be held at the Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta Tuesday, July 14. Volvo Rents has put together a 10+-city tour that will offer free admission for those in the construction industry when they bring three or more non-perishable food items or a monetary donation. The tour has already raised thousands of pounds of food for local food banks and more than 10,000 boxes of charitable supplies for U.S. military troops.
“We want to give contractors V.I.P. treatment in an R.I.P. housing market,” said Ciricillo, the former “tool man” on the Discovery Channel’s “Your New House” television show. “Contractors have been hard hit, and this is just a little way of bringing some laughter back into their lives. We also know that the local food banks have many more mouths to feed, and no matter how difficult the times have been for the industry, we can always dig a little deeper to find something to offer those less fortunate.”
Comics Billy Wayne Davis and Jay Hastings will perform July 17 at the Silver Reef Casino, in Ferndale, Wash.
“The economy has been tough for a lot of Americans, especially contractors,” said Volvo Rents marketing consultant Nick Mavrick. “We are putting on an unprecedented comedy tour to show them we are still thinking of them and are grateful for their generosity — good times or bad.”
