Volvo Rents Acquires Inland Rentals; Names VP of Sales and Marketing

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Volvo Rents has acquired Inland Rentals, a single-location construction equipment rental company in Post Falls, Idaho. Inland Rentals was a Volvo Rents franchise before being acquired by Volvo Rents, one of nearly 50 companies it has acquired in the past year.

“As the recession continues to force contractors to be financially prudent, the construction equipment rental industry is projected to be one of the fastest growing in North America, as more people are choosing to rent rather than commit to capital expenditures,” said Mike Crouch, vice president of business development for Volvo Rents.

Stacy Peterson, who founded Inland Rentals in 2006 plans to continue with the company in a consulting role.

In personnel news, Volvo Rents named Matt Tavianini vice president of sales and marketing. Tavianini, an 18-year veteran of the rental industry, will be responsible for implementing formal programs, systems and processes to align and integrate Volvo Rents' sales and marketing functions.

Tavianini began his rental career as a branch manager with Hertz Equipment Rental. He joined Volvo Rents in 2006 as mid-Atlantic district manager, and most recently served as regional sales manager.

“This was an easy decision, the right decision, as we implement a purposeful plan to take our business to the next level,” said Barry Natwick, president of Volvo Rents, referring to the company's current efforts to manage and grow a network of company-owned stores in addition to operating a franchise network. “Matt shares the same values, passion and innate desire to keep our business successful. His appointment is yet another reason for us to look to the future with great enthusiasm.”

Based in Asheville, N.C., Volvo Rents is No. 17 on the RER 100.
