Volvo Rents has acquired Contractors Equipment Rental, a single-location construction equipment rental company based in Orlando, Fla. The acquisition follows Volvo Rents’ recent acquisitions of Sampson Equipment Co., a three-location company based in the Salt Lake City area; and Slidell, La.-based Tuff Equipment Rentals. Previously only a franchised-based rental chain, Volvo Rents’ new acquisition strategy is helping the company expand its footprint significantly.

With an increase in local construction spending projected to total almost $30 billion between 2012 and 2016, Volvo Rents hopes to be a major player in the Orlando area.
