Volvo Construction Equipment North America dealers Scott Construction Equipment Co. llc, and G. W. Van Keppel Co. have formed a joint venture company, Scott Van Keppel llc, to acquire Volvo CE dealer Spreitzer Inc. The new company will operate as a separate entity from the principal companies and as an authorized Volvo CE dealer in Iowa and Nebraska from present sales and services branches operated by Spreitzer. The appointment of the new dealership is effective immediately.
Principal officers of Scott Van Keppel are Scott Cummins, CEO of Scott Construction Equipment, and Bill Walker. Scott Construction Equipment, a Volvo CE dealer since 2000 with headquarters in Monroe, La., operates 10 Volvo CE sales and service centers in Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. The company, which also has a strong rental division, is No. 46 on the RER 100.
Van Keppel is based in Kansas City, Kan., and has seven branches in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. The company became a Clark Michigan Co. dealer in 1976 (Volvo and Clark merged their construction equipment subsidiaries in 1985) and continued as an authorized Volvo CE dealer following Volvo’s acquisition of Clark in 1995.
“Spreitzer has built a solid foundation of Volvo construction equipment sales and service over the years, and we look forward with great anticipation to the opportunities presented to us to further strengthen the Volvo position in the territory we are now entering,” said Cummins and Walker in a joint statement.
