United Rentals this week said its Government Solutions business was awarded state purchasing contracts in Texas and Massachusetts.
In Massachusetts, United won a sole-source equipment rental contract through 2012 with an optional extension. The contract is available for use by all executive agencies in the state.
In Texas, United Rentals won a shared contract for equipment rentals provided through 2012 and administered via the state’s Houston-Galveston area council, a nationwide purchasing cooperative available to all units of local government and non-profits. The renewable HGAC contract expands the presence of United Rentals Government Solutions in Texas where the company has held a Texas Multiple Award Schedule since 2007.
Robert Caudle, director – government solutions for United, said the contracts “give us an opportunity to strengthen our existing relationships with state and local governments and expand the range of agencies we support. We place a high value on these partnerships.”
Caudle added that in recent months government agencies have been increasingly relying on United Rentals Government Solutions expertise to assist them in implementation of projects related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. “Our vast equipment resources and national branch footprint enable us to provide solutions to government customers in virtually any locale,” he said.
Based in Greenwich, Conn., United Rentals is No. 1 on the RER 100.
