Trico Equipment Reorganizes Into Separate Lift, Earthmoving Companies

Trico Equipment, which has one of the largest privately owned rental fleets in North America, has re-structured itself, organizing its earthmoving and aerial divisions into separate companies to enable each to focus more on its portion of the construction equipment market.

Trico Lift will be exclusively devoted to the rental of aerial lift equipment and will be led by newly named president and CEO Ken Pustizzi. The company is headquartered in Millville, N.J., and has branches in Beltsville, Md.; Gainesville, Va.; Marcus Hook, Pa.; South Plainsfield, N.J., and Cincinnati. The company, which employs 90 people, plans to expand into other key geographic areas in the future.

The earthmoving division will be led by Joseph Pustizzi Jr., who serves as president and CEO of what is now Trico Equipment Services. Based in Vineland, N.J., Trico Equipment Services will continue to serve as a full-service Case construction equipment dealership and regional earthmoving rental business with locations in Vineland, Freehold, N.J., and Totowa, N.J., with about 75 employees.

“The seed for Trico Lift was planted in 1980 when my brother Joe had the foresight to add this dimension to the business, which at the time was focused only on earthmoving equipment,” said Ken Pustizzi. “It’s a tribute to him that we are now positioned to launch this separate company which will focus entirely on expanding our position in the aerial lift market.”

“It’s a win for our dedicated employees who can continue to grow with us on both the aerial and earthmoving equipment sides of the business and not be subject to outside or unfamiliar ownership,” said Joe Pustizzi.

Established in 1952 by Joseph Pustizzi Sr., the company began as a farm tractor distributor and later expanded into construction equipment sales and rentals. Trico is No. 44 on the RER 100.
