The board of directors of Toromont Industries Ltd. last week promoted Scott Medhurst to the position of Toromont president and CEO, effective March 1. Medhurst has also been appointed a director of Toromont effective the same date.

Medhurst is currently president, Toromont CAT, the Caterpillar dealership division of Toromont. He joined the Ontario Caterpillar dealership in May 1988 and has steadily progressed through equipment sales positions into branch and regional management roles to his appointment as president of Toromont CAT in September 2004.

Robert Ogilvie, currently chairman and CEO, Toromont, will remain actively involved in the affairs of Toromont as executive chairman.

Toromont Industries operates through two business segments: The Equipment Group and CIMCO. The Equipment Group includes one of the larger Caterpillar dealerships by revenue and geographic territory in addition to industry leading rental operations, Battlefield Equipment Rental, No. 20 on the RER 100.
