Thompson Pump Obtains ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification

Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co., a full-service manufacturer and provider of pumps, pumping equipment and engineering expertise, has achieved ISO 9001:2000 quality certification for its Port Orange, Fla., manufacturing facility.

Thompson Pump is one of only a few pump companies to have obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification. The globally recognized certification was granted following independent testing and assessment of the company’s quality management systems and manufacturing capabilities. ISO 9001:2000 recognizes companies that meet strict criteria for manufacturing standards. The ISO 9001:2000 certification is considered the highest standard for quality assurance. To achieve certification, companies must have a comprehensive quality management system that addresses all areas of its operation.

“Through total employee involvement, Thompson Pump’s systems, procedures, documentation and manufacturing are all aligned to provide the highest quality products and services to our customers,” said Bill Thompson, president, Thompson Pump & Manufacturing. “This recognition communicates to our customers, worldwide, that they are working with an organization that prides itself in incorporating the very best practices and processes in the industry to consistently meet or exceed their needs.”

Thompson Pump manufactures high-quality engine-powered portable pumps, ranging in size from 2 to 18 inches, for use in varied applications in the areas of public works, municipalities, construction, agriculture, dewatering, mining, sewer/lift stations, and water/waste water.

Headquartered in Port Orange, Fla., Thompson Pump sells and rents its entire line of dewatering pumps including wet and dry prime trash pumps, sound attenuated models, diaphragm pumps, hydraulic submersible pumps, high pressure pumps and wellpoint pumps as well as bypass systems, wellpoint systems and a complete line of pumping accessories.
