Spider, a division of SafeWorks, llc recently promoted Chris Bates to the newly created position of director of national accounts and industrial access.

In this new role, Bates will be responsible for driving incremental business solutions to top facility owners, general contractors and specialty subcontractors.

“This position creates an opportunity to provide our customers with better access solutions by building strategic alliances through national accounts and partnering with our industrial customers,” said John Sotiroff, vice president of Spider sales. “Chris’s skill set, dedication to the customer and knowledge of the Spider business and industrial markets makes him a perfect fit for this important role.”

Bates has more than 26 years of experience in the scaffolding industry, spending the past 15 years with Spider. He began with Spider as branch manager in the Washington/Baltimore location, and soon progressed to regional management positions. In his most previous role as Gulf Coast area director, Bates managed sales and operations for the Dallas, Houston, New Orleans and Pensacola, Fla., branches.

Tukwila, Wash.-based Spider is No. 75 on the RER 100.
