Speedy Hire, one of the United Kingdom’s largest rental companies, said volume for the five month period ended August 31, rose 29 percent compared with the same period the previous year, company officials said last week.

The announcement was made in advance of the six-month interim results ended Sept. 30 that the company will announce Nov. 22.

The company said tool hire raised volume 15 percent, with an overall jump for the equipment division of 48 percent, 29 percent excluding the recently acquired LCH Generator division.
