Snorkel Shuts Down Production for a Week
Elwood, Kan. — Aerial work platform Snorkel International last month implemented a one-week shutdown of its principal United States production facility in Elwood, Kan., in order to manage its resources in line with revised market levels.
The company closed its production facilities the week of Oct. 27, though its customer care team and sales force was fully operational throughout the week. Snorkel resumed production Nov. 3.
“The aerial work platform industry continues to face some significant challenges, including the chaotic financial markets, a significant downturn in the construction sector, combined with uncertainty caused by the U.S. election process,” Snorkel's Dan Jenkins said. “These factors are impacting at a time coinciding with the quietest season in the U.S. AWP calendar.”
