Aerial work platform Snorkel International last week said it will implement a one-week shutdown of its principal United States production facility in Elwood, Kan., in order to manage its resources in line with revised market levels.
The company will close its production facilities the week of Oct. 27. The company’s customer care team and sales force will be fully operational throughout the week. The company will resume production Nov. 3.
“The aerial work platform industry continues to face some significant challenges, including the chaotic financial markets, a significant downturn in the construction sector, combined with uncertainty caused by the U.S. election process,” Snorkel’s Dan Jenkins said. “These factors are impacting at a time coinciding with the quietest season in the U.S. AWP calendar.”
