Skanska USA Acquires Industrial Contractors

Skanska USA, a division of Skanska, the Swedish construction giant, acquired the construction company Industrial Contractors Inc. and affiliated companies, based in Evansville, Ind., for about $135 million. Industrial Contractors is a leading contractor in the commercial, industrial and power markets in the Midwest, with about $500 million revenues in 2011.

Industrial Contractors has built and manufactured major facilities for large industrial companies, including the recent completion of a natural gas-fired, combined cycle facility in Dresden, Ohio, and the coal gasification facility for Duke Energy in Edwardsport, Ind.

Skanska USA is based in New York; Skanska’s international headquarters is Stockholm, Sweden. The company had about $18 billion in revenue in 2011.
