RSC Equipment Rental last week named Phillip Hobson senior vice president, operations, effective immediately, adding to his role as senior vice president, corporate operations. In Hobson’s new role, he will be responsible for leading and managing field performance for the company’s western division. David Ledlow, currently senior vice president, operations for the western division, who led all field operations for the first five months of 2009, will now assume responsibility for the eastern division.

“Phil has a demonstrated track record of identifying opportunities for improvement and leading innovation that has made a lasting, positive impact on the way we do business,” said Erik Olsson, RSC’s president and CEO. “He is a well-respected leader and has a reputation for driving results and challenging the status quo. His experience and successes in roles of increasing responsibility with RSC will continue to make a significant contribution to our company.”

Hobson joined RSC in 1998. His current role includes leading marketing, sales, innovation, product management, information technology and the managed services group, which includes Total Control, RSC’s proprietary system to improve processes for managing complex rental operations.
