Point-of-Rental Systems last week announced that its Enterprise 2010 Rental Management Software passed Payment Application Data Security Standard certification testing. PA DSS is the new requirement that software vendors must uphold as part of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Developed by PCI Security Standards Council to help protect customers from having their credit card information stolen, PCI compliance is now required of all merchants that handle payment card transactions. One of the requirements is that merchants must use software that is PA DSS certified.
