John McClure is now general manager of Modern Group’s Power Systems Division.

Modern Group has hired power systems industry veteran John McClure as general manager of its Power Systems Division. The hiring of McClure strengthens Modern’s position in the power systems market.

“With more than 25 years in the generator industry, McClure will oversee seven technicians, two sales representatives and an office staff handling the marketing and service of power generation systems in Eastern Pennsylvania, Central/Southern New Jersey and Delaware,” said Paul Farrell, chief operations officer for Modern.

McClure entered the industry in 1984 and later became service manager for a Cummins dealer before founding McClure Power Systems. Modern acquired McClure Power Systems in 2007. McClure replaces Steve Lecatsas, who was named branch manager of Modern Group’s Bristol, Pa., headquarters.

Modern has forklifts, power systems, construction, and warehouse products departments. Still a strong rental player, Modern Group is No. 54 on the RER 100.
