MMD Equipment is headquartered in Swedesboro, N.J.

Mitsui Machinery Distribution, Swedesboro, N.J., distributors of Airman compressors and generators, the Sakai line of compaction machinery and the MMD/NAC line of light construction equipment, has sold the assets and trademarks of the company to Rajysan Inc., dba MMD Equipment in California. The agreement was effective March 18.

Simultaneous agreements were also signed by Rajysan Inc. dba MMD Equipment with Hokuetsu Industries Co. Ltd. for the exclusive North American distribution of the Airman line of air compressors and generators. Effective March 18, Rajysan Inc. dba MMD Equipment, New Jersey, will exclusively sell, support and provide warranty for all Airman products.

“This agreement provides for the graceful transition for Mitsui Machinery Distribution, while enabling continuity for the brands and equipment lines that MMD Equipment represents and values,” said Shigenao Sasaki, director of corporate planning for MMD.

Tetsushi Nakashima, director and general manager of Hokuetsu Industries, on signing an expanded, multi-year contract, said, “I’m very pleased to find a stable and strong partner in Rajysan Inc. We can now be proud and assured that the new MMD Equipment will be able to fulfill customers’ requirements and expectations in the United States.”

“Our first goal is to stabilize the well-respected brands of Airman and MMD Equipment in the United States,” said Gurmeet Sahani, president of Rajysan Inc. “MMD’s established sales rep and marketing partners are important to stabilizing the brands and their market share. MMD Equipment’s management will be handled by known and well-respected industry professionals, including Paul R. Daly, who will be its new president.”

MMD Equipment will continue to promote the Airman line of air compressors and generators through its established network of sales representatives. Other product lines, including Sakai’s line of rammers, vibratory plates and compaction equipment will be added in the near future, along with Rajysan’s brand of Lynx mixers and Lynx trailers.
