Sunbelt Rentals announced Friday that it has entered into a commercial agreement with SmartEquip to utilize its SE B2B Exchange beginning in the second quarter of 2007. Oshkosh Grosses $1 Billion in Fiscal Q1; Works on JLG Integration
Oshkosh Truck Corp., parent company of JLG Industries and a leading manufacturer of specialty vehicles and vehicle bodies, reported earnings per share for its fiscal first quarter of 55 cents, on sales of $1 billion and net income of $41.2 million, compared with EPS of 72 cents on sales of $790.3 million and net income of $53.1 million for the same period last year. Oshkosh’s EPS exceeded its most recent earnings estimate range of 35 cents to 40 cents per share, which included an estimated 15 cents per share dilution to EPS from its $3.1 billion acquisition of JLG. The actual dilution was 13 cents per share....

The California Rental Association has almost sold out exhibit space for its March 20-22 “Rental Rally” in Bakersfield, Calif., CRA executive director Dale Blackwell told RER Reports. Toaster Causes Fire at HERC Branch
Fire sprinklers contained a fire started by electrical wiring in a toaster in an employee break room at the Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. branch in Rohnert Park, Calif., the Rohnert Park Public Safety Department reported last week. The fire caused about $10,000 in water and smoke damages. The fire was brought under control in 14 minutes and caused minor structural damaged....
