Hertz Global Holdings reported second-quarter 2010 worldwide revenues of $1.9 billion, a 7.1-percent year-over-year increase compared with the second quarter of 2009. However, revenues from worldwide equipment rentals decreased 4 percent to $265.8 million, compared with $277 million for the year-ago period.
Adjusted pre-tax income for worldwide equipment rental for the second quarter was $14.4 million compared with $24.7 million for the same period a year ago, primarily attributable to the effects of reduced volume and pricing, partially offset by cost-management initiatives. The average acquisition cost of rental equipment operated during the quarter decreased by 4.9 percent year over year.
EBITDA for the equipment rental division was $105.3 million for the quarter; $596.3 million for the car rental division.
