Finning International said its Canadian division has been selected as the mining equipment supplier by Thompson Creek Metals Co. for its Mt. Milligan project. Finning will supply mining trucks, support equipment, parts and specialized maintenance labor to the Mt. Milligan mine northwest of Prince George, B.C.
The 42 machines include Caterpillar 793F mining trucks and support equipment, to be delivered between now and 2012.
Currently under construction, Mt. Milligan is a conventional truck and shovel open-pit mine. Production is scheduled to begin in 2013 with average annual metal production of 81 million pounds of copper and 194,000 ounces of gold over a projected 22-year mine life.
Based in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Finning is No. 10 on the RER 100.
