DeFeo, Kneeland to Speak at IPAF Summit in Miami in March

CUMBRIA, United Kingdom — Ron DeFeo, chairman and CEO of Terex Corp., and Michael Kneeland, president and CEO of United Rentals, will be featured speakers at the International Powered Access Federation Summit to be held March 26, 2013, in Miami. DeFeo will give the keynote address. The IPAF Summit will be followed that evening by the International Awards for Powered Access, expected to attract more than 400 attendees.

Terex Corp. chairman and CEO Ron DeFeo will give the keynote address at the IPAF Summit next year, examining manufacturers’ responsibilities in providing support and backup to AWP equipment throughout its lifecycle.
The event will be held in the United States for the first time. The joint organizers — Access International and IPAF — expect DeFeo and Kneeland to be major draws for attendees.

DeFeo’s keynote address will examine the responsibilities manufacturers and the industry have in providing support and backup to aerial work platform equipment throughout the lifecycle of the machines. His presentation coincides with a rising focus on the residual values of machinery, seen against the increasing age of fleets in the U.S. and Europe. DeFeo is a veteran of more than 20 years in management and operating experience with Terex. He also served as a director of United Rentals until June 2005. He has been inducted into the Association of Equipment Manufacturers Hall of Fame and has served as chairman of AEM.

“We are also delighted to welcome back Michael Kneeland to the IPAF Summit,” said IPAF CEO Tim Whiteman. “Michael first addressed the IPAF Summit 2009 in Dublin, giving valuable strategies for rental companies then fighting the crisis. The consolidation and current changes at United Rentals and RSC will provide a rich area for discussion.”

United Rentals president and CEO Michael Kneeland will offer insight on the consolidation of United and RSC Equipment Rentals.

The IPAF Summit has developed a tradition of challenging preconceptions and providing delegates with valuable take-home messages that contribute toward a professional and safe powered access industry. The full program and speaker line-up will be announced later this year. The Summit will be held in English with simultaneous translation in Spanish and Portuguese. Attendance is free and delegates should register in advance.

More details will be available soon at www.iapa-summit.info.
