Bellingham-Wash.-based Birch Equipment & Sales last week announced it will hold its 10th annual open house events from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 7, at its Mount Vernon, Wash., location; Sept. 14, at its Anacortes, Wash., location; and Sept. 21 at its Bellingham, Wash., location.
Locally owned and operated since 1972, Birch is well known in Northwest Washington for its September open house events. This year the company is adding operator competitions to its list of activities. Experienced operators as well as novices can compete in timed events on excavators, backhoes, dingoes and concrete saws. Participants will be entered to win Seahawks, Mariners or Canucks tickets, T-shirts and hats.
A free, wild salmon barbecue, Hempler’s hotdogs, boom lift rides and prize drawings will also be part of the events.
