After several months of planning and renovating, Hyster Lift Truck dealer Alta Equipment Co. has taken possession of its new 41,696-square-foot Itasca, Ill., service facility and will hold a grand opening on Oct. 28. The full-service location becomes Alta Equipment Co.’s second branch in the Chicago area, adding to its current facility in Montgomery.
The expansion signals Alta’s intention to provide complete service coverage throughout Chicago. According to Art Kasik, Alta Equipment’s chief operating officer, this is the next step toward the company’s goal of having five or six Chicago service facilities.
“As a lift truck dealer, you have to have a strong presence in Itasca,” Kasik said. “There are dozens of distribution centers nearby. We were very fortunate to find a building with great visibility and access to the expressway. Now that this is finished, we’re actively looking for appropriate sites for our next branch.”
