AEMP to Offer Certification Exams at Fall Symposium in Nashville

Association of Equipment Management Professionals, the organization for asset management professionals of off-road fleets, will offer an opportunity to test for professional certification at this year’s Fall Asset Management Symposium in Nashville, Tenn. Exams will be administered on Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Those wishing to take a certification exam must submit the appropriate application, and purchase the “Career Equipment Fleet Manager Manual.” Application deadline for the 2011 Fall Symposium test date is Oct. 14.

AEMP’s certification programs are designed to showcase specialized skill sets needed by industry professionals. Each of the certifications offered cover the 17 core competencies AEMP has identified as necessary to be an effective equipment professional, including benchmarking and life cycle analysis, and environmental and safety requirements.

Three credentials are available: Certified Equipment Manager, Equipment Manager Specialist, and Certified Equipment Support Professional.

Those looking to become certified will also have the opportunity to take advantage of the Professional Development Institute at the Fall Symposium. PDI participants can attend classes that pertain to each of the 17 core competency areas. Each offering is led by an industry expert.

Applications are available online at www.aemp.org/education/certification/about_certifications.html.

Formed in 1980, AEMP represents fleet professionals working in construction, government, utilities, energy, mining and more. AEMP maintains relationships among manufacturers, users, governmental agencies, educational institutions and others involved in the design and management of heavy equipment.
