Acme Lift Co. Names Ferguson VP of Sales

Acme Lift Co., North America’s largest wholesale aerial equipment re-rent company, has named Mike Ferguson, a 20-year sales and management veteran of the equipment rental business, vice president of sales. Ferguson was hired by Acme in August as manager of the Gulf Coast and central regions of the U.S.

“Mike has a tremendous amount of industry experience that he brings to his new position,” said Woody Weld, Acme Lift chairman and CEO. “Since joining Acme Lift, Mike has made significant contributions to our company in the Gulf Coast region. Because of his fleet management, planning and marketing abilities, we now hope to utilize Mike’s capabilities to grow the Acme Lift sales and marketing team. Mike additionally will help direct fleet concentrations, new products, and improvement of customer contacts. Mike has the ability to initiate new business and negotiate existing contracts with Acme Lift’s customers, both large and small.”

“I take pride in building Acme Lift’s exemplary relationships with all our customers based on honesty, integrity and respect,” Ferguson said. “That has always been at the forefront.”

Ferguson added that he wants to “have the time to develop more strategic partnerships within the retail rental industry, as well as exploring opportunities outside the United States and looking into other product lines for Acme Lift.”

Ferguson started his rental industry career at Prime Equipment in Garland, Texas, and then moved in 1995 to Horizon High Reach in Irving, Texas, working as an outside sales representative until 1998. He joined Mango Equipment in Irving that year as an outside sales rep, covering Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Mango was acquired by United Rentals in 1999. Ferguson stayed with United until 2011, holding several branch management positions before being promoted to manager of new business development, working to start branches across the Gulf Coast and Midwest.

Acme Lift Co., based in Mesa, Ariz., has a wide selection of 60-, 80-, 120-, 135- and 150-foot boomlifts and 8,000- to 20,000-pound telehandlers, along with an extensive line of truck-mounted cranes. Acme Lift is No. 56 on the RER 100.
