HERC Launches Website Redesign

Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Hertz Corp., last week announced the launch of its brand new website design at www.hertzequip.com.

The new website includes a completely redesigned homepage that places primary equipment and user options on one user-friendly page. Categories include a variety of construction, industrial and specialty equipment. Homeowner equipment has also been added to the website to support the growth of HERC's general rental operations. The new website features a simplified equipment ordering process. Customers are able to save commonly used items and previous rental requests in their user profile and save jobsite information, so that they no longer need to re-enter that data during future visits to the website. Site users are also able to view photos of equipment models they are interested in, as well as rates that are specific to their contract.

“HERC prides itself on continuously improving its products and services, whether it's by offering smaller equipment to homeowners at new general rental locations, or by creating a website that allows users to do everything from tracking equipment on rent to viewing equipment available for sale,” said Mark Frissora, chairman of the board and CEO. “The redesigned website is yet another step we’re taking to ensure that customers choose Hertz when renting equipment and that Hertz offers customers the products and services it needs — both on and off line — for a seamless experience.”

“We’re excited to announce that visitors to the website will now benefit from a customized shopping experience that makes on-line renting easier and more efficient,” said Gerry Plescia, HERC president. “After receiving valuable feedback from our customers, we’ve provided users with the ability to control and modify the access rights of their internal employees in order to make customers’ preferences, ordering history and billing information even more personal.”

Other additions to the HERC website include:
· Rental Catalog customizable by account — equipment options and rental rates are specific to customer’s contract.

· Total estimated rental charges for the development of cost estimates, bid preparations and ordering.

· Rental Approval Process — users have the ability to review status of their rental requests.

· Capability to set website access rights for internal employees, allowing them access to specific features and account reporting.

· Downloadable Turnaround Tool Planner for industrial clients.

Aside from the website’s personalization features, customers have access to enhanced functions such as a branch location finder that provides driving directions to every HERC facility in the U.S. The website also has an improved equipment sales section, in which users have the ability to search for equipment available for sale and to modify their search results by location, price, usage and other categories.

Park Ridge, N.J.-based HERC is No. 4 on the RER 100.
