John Deere Integrates Dealers' Used Equipment Inventories Into eBay

John Deere last week announced that it is now providing its dealers with the capability to upload their used equipment inventories directly from a dealer’s John Deere inventory system to eBay. This new capability will allow John Deere dealers to list their used equipment on eBay, from the same system that they also list their used equipment inventories on Deere’s Machinefinder.com used equipment website, in Google Product Search, and partner websites.

“John Deere dealers will now be able to take advantage of the popularity of the eBay platform to give their customers the ability to find John Deere used equipment and purchase it through eBay’s bidding platform,” said Michael Gause, division manager, remarketing operations. “This means potential John Deere customers can now more quickly find used John Deere equipment from authorized dealers at the best price.”

This new capability will allow John Deere dealers to list their used agricultural and lawn and garden equipment on eBay, from the same system that they also list their used equipment inventories on www.machinefinder.com and Google Product Search.

“We are excited about this technology enhancement for our dealers because they can use their current ability to load equipment into our MachineFinder website and also add it to their own eBay store,” Gause explained. “We are always looking for ways to help our customers find the equipment they need and to help the dealers sell more used equipment. This online channel is one way to ensure that we give our dealers cutting-edge tools to sell more.”

The integration between Deere’s used equipment website, www.machinefinder.com, and eBay was done by Deere’s website development team, using eBay’s publicly available API for developers. Gause, also gives credit to his search engine marketing vendor, KoMarketing Associates.
