RER Spotlights: Breakers | June 2012

Atlas Copco

Atlas Copco Construction Tools introduces a new product variant of medium hydraulic breakers. The new MB Essential range is designed to meet the needs of high-performance, low weight jobs. Breaker features are reduced to the essential to manage their daily targets so the new range comes without ContiLube II and the noise protection kit.

Hilti

The new Hilti TE 700-AVR demolition hammer is designed for renovation work. Featuring improved power, a reduced contact pressure, and an optional TE DRS-B dust-removal system, the TE 700-AVR can remove masonry, breaking out penetrations in concrete and enlarging openings in walls, as well as removing tiles and plaster. The breaker weighs 17.4 pounds and features 8.5 foot-pounds of impact energy. The Active Vibration Reduction system is designed to minimize vibration.

Wacker Neuson

The new EH 65/120 electric breaker from Wacker Neuson is designed with less than 5 m/s2 of hand arm vibration and features a full-hood vibration dampening system. The EH 65 weighs 57 pounds and hits with 47.9 foot pounds. With the high percussion rate of 1,060 bpm, the EH 65 offers a high power-to-weight ratio compared to other breakers in its size class, the maker says. The unit is powered by a brushless three-phase motor. The inverter protects the tool with an automatic shut-off if input voltage is too low or too high.

Chicago Pneumatic

The BRK 55 hydraulic breakers are designed for rental companies to meet the needs of road-building and maintenance applications. Delivering 1,450 bpm, the BRK 55 Chicago Pneumatic breakers feature a slim design, giving operators an effective line of sight to the working tool point and boosting productivity. Operators are able to get to work quickly because the BRK 55's hoses are fitted with flat-face HTMA quick-release couplings designed for fast, easy connections in all work environments.

Allied Construction Products

Allied Construction Products introduces three all-new Sandvik Small Range breakers. The BR555, BR777 and BR999 (pictured) are designed without tie rods and incorporate the Constant Blow Energy plus operating system. The integrated one-piece tool bushing design includes the thrust ring, upper bushing, lower bushing and dust seal, requiring fewer parts. The box-type housing of the new breakers incorporates high-tech dampening material that reduces noise and vibration in addition to fully protecting the power cell. Less wear and better bending-force resistance also increase the life span and reduce operating costs.
