Greenwich, Conn.-based United Rentals last week announced the launch of United Rentals Certified Auctions on eBay. United Rentals Certified Auctions will offer a steady stream of quality used equipment, including skid-steer loaders, mini-excavators, aerial lifts, generators and welders.

“We are continually upgrading our equipment fleet to provide rental customers with the latest models to meet their needs,” said Michael Kneeland, executive vice president of operations for United Rentals. “We regularly have a large inventory of used equipment that has been maintained by our technicians, which we can offer to customers interested in making a capital purchase of this kind. eBay is the best method to make it widely available, using our United Rentals Certified Auctions.”

eBay’s platform has enabled it to grow to a worldwide community of 168 million registered users who favor the site because of its ability to drive buying and selling efficiencies. The launch of United Rentals Certified Auctions is part of United Rentals’ new strategic e-commerce plan to provide customers with convenient online options for purchasing or renting equipment. It also has redesigned unitedrentals.com to allow customers to search for, compare and reserve rental equipment at the nearest company branch.

United Rentals equipment purchased on eBay is available with a United Guard Extended Warranty, which covers inspections and repairs for an additional charge.

United Rentals auctions can be found from a link on its homepage at unitedrentals.com or directly on eBay at stores.ebay.com/UnitedRentals.
