Aerial work platform manufacturer Snorkel will be launching three new global products at Bauma 2013. The S39070RT is a compact rough-terrain scissorlift, designed for working in confined spaces such as between buildings. Built on Snorkel’s SRT chassis, the unit provides a maximum platform height of 39 feet but is only 70 inches wide.

Designed for rough-terrain applications, the machine has four-wheel drive, an articulating rear axle, and 30-percent gradeability. Standard features include automatic self-leveling stabilizers and a 1.2-meter extension deck for additional outreach.

The S39700RT joins two established products in the Snorkel SRT series, the S3370RT and S2770RT. Like those, the unit is powered by a Kubota diesel engine, but is also powered by a petrol/liquid propane combination. The machine is available as the S3970BE bi-energy model. The drive train allows the operator to work outdoors on the diesel engine, then switch to an electric motor for emissions legislation compliance when working inside buildings.

Additional standard features include forklift pockets for ease of transport and a slide-out service tray for easy engine access. Designed at Snorkel’s New Zealand facility for the Australian and Asian markets, the unit will be available in the rest of the world later this year.

Snorkel is also showcasing a new self-propelled low-level access platform at Bauma. As a self-propelled machine, the Snorkel S1030E has a 10-foot maximum platform height. Battery-powered, the unit is lightweight enough for most floor load-bearing restrictions and can be driven at full height, delivering increased productivity and efficiency benefits compared to push-around machines, Snorkel says.

Also, Snorkel has enhanced its M1230E self-propelled mastlift with a 500-mm roll-out deck extension, lengthening the platform size to 1.46 meters. The all-electric unit can be driven through standard interior doorways and carried in passenger elevators but can lift two people with tools to a height of 3.6 meters.

The robust reverse concentric mast design gives the M1230E a lift capacity of 227 kilograms and a stable work platform, even when fully elevated. It is used in a wide range of applications, from construction and maintenance to stock-picking. It can be used outside by one person. With an all-steel chassis making the machine durable, the machine is designed for rental.

The M1230E is fitted with twin saloon door-style entry gates and the same control system found on Snorkel’s S Series scissorlifts.
