Sany America has appointed John Kuo director in charge of port machinery products. Kuo has been with Sany America since 2008, serving as service manager/vice director and most recently as parts vice director. He will report to Sany America chairman Tim Frank.

Kuo will be responsible for expanding Sany’s port machinery business in North American markets and beyond as the company continues increasing port product offerings.

“The Sany product, including our reach stackers, empty container handlers, heavy forklifts and cranes, are designed and built for the needs of the global market,” Kuo said. “It’s my job to ensure more and more customers discover Sany as a solution for world-class equipment and performance. We’re very confident in our product and with that foundation there are no boundaries to the ports that we can call home.”

“John has done a great job for Sany the last five years in various roles and we look forward to him helping us advance our port machinery business,” Frank said. “He brings a wealth of experience in the crane and port machinery aspects of our business at many levels. This will continue to serve us well as Sany continues its trajectory as a North American provider of heavy equipment solutions.”

Kuo began his career in 1977 as crane service manager for a Manitowoc dealership. He then served as sales director of a PPM Port Machinery and Liebherr tower crane dealerships before returning to a Manitowoc, Terex, Kobelco dealership as service and operations manager.

Sany port machinery is at work in 14 of the world’s 15 biggest ports, as well at intermodal facilities. Sany’s global product offerings include mobile port machinery (reach stackers, empty-container handlers, heavy forklifts) and heavy port equipment (rubber-tire gantry cranes, rail mounted gantry cranes, ship-to-shore cranes and jib cranes).
