Husqvarna Group last week made two changes in its group management structure, announcing that Michael Jones, executive vice president and head of business unit Americas, has decided to leave the group. Jones joined Husqvarna in 2009. Nicolas Lanus was appointed executive vice president and head of business unit sales and service Asia/Pacific and will become a new member of group management.

Earl Bennett, vice president and general counsel for Americas, has been appointed acting head of Americas, effective Jan. 23. He will become member of group management until a replacement has been recruited.

“I thank Michael Jones for his valuable contributions to the Group and wish him all the best with his future endeavors,” said Hans Linnarson, president and CEO of Husqvarna Group.

Lanus, the new head of sales and service Asia/Pacific, joined Husqvarna in 2001 and has held numerous leadership roles within sales, marketing, product management and business development across Europe, Latin America and Asia/Pacific. Most recently he has held the position as vice president sales and service for the Asia/Pacific region.

“Nicolas has broad experience within sales and business leadership,” Linnarson said. “His knowledge of the various markets in the region Asia/Pacific will be of great importance for driving sales.”

The Husqvarna Group is a leading producer of outdoor power products including chainsaws, trimmers, lawn mowers and garden tractors. It is also a provider of consumer watering products and one of the world leaders in cutting equipment and diamond tools for the construction and stone industries.
