Engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton has added two industry veterans to its Commercial Power sales team. Randy Lockyear was hired as senior director of commercial sales to oversee sales in North America of the company’s commercial engine lines, notably its Vanguard brand. Also, Rick Wendt joins the company as director of commercial sales, focusing on light construction and utility commercial business.

Lockyear comes to Briggs & Stratton from Kawasaki Motors, where he spent more than 20 years in a variety of leadership positions, most recently as national sales manager of North American and Australian engines sales. Wendt comes from American Honda Motor Co., where he spent more than 30 years, most recently as national OEM sales manager for Honda engines.

“We have made significant investments in commercial engine innovation and product offerings over the past few years,” said Joe Wright, senior vice president and president, Briggs & Stratton engines group. “The addition of Randy and Rick, with their deep industry knowledge, significantly enhances the strength of our commercial sales team and reinforces our commitment to growing our commercial engine business and profitability.”
